Title: rotating 15"ELO and usable skins (FReebox, UncleT's, Multijuke)
Post by: govee on January 15, 2008, 10:17:43 pm
I have all these programs loaded and am enjoying them all. What I need and cant seem to find is a skin that would allow me to orientate the monitor north and south without cropping the skins. I am running 1024X768 then I rotate. Am  missing a setting in windows or is it just a limitation of the existing skins(not meant negatively)? I shouldn't say I have Mutijuke checked with this yet as I use it on a linux drive that is out of the system right now. The closest usable screen I have used so far was from SKJ.

Thanks

hmm? Should MultiJuke not doing that automatic? It was designed to do that, that why I used a square number of pixels as backgrounds, so they can been used in any resoulutions.

My jukebox was designed to be run in horizontal mode not vertical.

Space,
I have to admit that I have not downloaded your windows version. I am going to do that tonite so I can see how it reacts to the rotation. I just remebered how your Linux App does the rotation and it should handle the rotation just fine.

Unclet,
Understand.

Thanks for the responses.

It use the same code in both versions, but MultiJuke can't switch resolutions automatic in Linux versions without a restart. I got a lots of OpenGL crashes in Linux when I tried.

Otherwice you need explain abit more....

Simply stated it appears that when I rotate the screen in windows the skins dont look good. I guess the fact that they are 1224(I think thats wrong)X768 when I rotate the screen in windows it is now 768X1224. I do remember that MultiJuke had its own screen rotation function and I did not rotate windows so maybe that is something to look into on the other apps.

Look like it's a bug in MultiJuke you found.

That format was not supported, because it was mathed 1224/768 to 1.59, and didden't round up to 1.6, where MultiJuke have a 16x10 skin (I assume you have a widescreen?

It's now fixed, and I release that version soon (mightbe but without plugin support on that version).

The 1224/768 should now show as a 16x10 widescreen skin. I guess in MultiJuke it did got that skin messed? If your monitor is a normal 4x3, you should use 1024x768 instead.

I build a Linux build tomorrow. But if the Windows Build fixed the problem, it should fix that in Linux as well.

Does others actually have widescreen skins (also NOT 4x3 skins), since they become more and more popular, also outside USA?

NB. I have NOT enabled PLUGIN support in that version, just various fixes. I still missing a few commands.

The only way to do this in freebox would be to make a skin for the rotated resolution, you also wouldn't be able to switch this on the fly. You can load the skins to change the display when freebox is loaded but it wouldn't do it automatically i mean.
