Title: IPAC 4 HELP! shift button and one button problem
Post by: bossyman15 on January 14, 2008, 04:16:44 pm
just today i powered up my cab and went into a game and i noticed that my player one button 1 (B) wasn't working so i try to exit the game by using player one shift + P but it didn't work it just pauses the game. so i had to use keyboard to exit

i went in Ipac 4 config program and everything are all right nothing's changed. the shift function are set to player 1 button and the player 1 button 1 are set to B as it should be but i try to press those buttons it didn't work in the program but the strange thing when i open up notepad and press player 1, it works! but button 1 didn't work. however when i press shift button it shouldn't register right away only i let go of the button you know? i tried player 3 and it works as it should but not player 1.

i tried programming the ipac 4 again but it still didn't work
i checked the wiring and nothing appears to be wrong.
but stranger thing is that
ii did check to see if the button are set right in the game and it is!

this is strange anybody know what's wrong?

Your description of the problem is a little confusing to follow. Am I to understand that this is a problem that cropped up recently or is this the first test of a new cab?

this problem was cropped up recently.

last time and many last time i used the cab it worked fine.

let me try to explain the problem a bit better

my player one button are shift fuction and player one start so

but now the shift function no longer works (but player 3 shift function still works) it only works as to start the game but not as shift function

the player one button one which is set to B key no longer work at all not even in notepad.

In cases such as this, the self-test LEDs on the I-PAC are very useful for troubleshooting. Shift functions can be affected by a shorted connection. I should be able to help by email, can you let me know what happens on the self-test LED at power on?
