I'm trying to configure project 64 in Mala and when I try to launch a game I'm getting an error message and I don't know what it means or how to solve the problem. Mame & NES emulators work fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry I don't use Project 64 but I'm sure someone will help you.
I have a small tip for you for screenshot capture.
Hitting Print Screen in Windows will capture the whole screen to the clipboard
Hitting Alt-Print Screen in Windows will capture the active window to the clipboard
Then you open Paint (or another graphics prog) and Paste it in.
It could be easier and cleaner than taking photos on the screen IMHO ;D

This is an install shield error if I'm not mistaken. Are you by chance trying to run the installation exe from within Mala instead of project64.exe?
EDIT: I just attempted to run the Project64 setup file instead of Project64.exe from within Mala, and I get the same error (see below). If you haven't already you need to run the setup program (not from Mala). Once you do that you'll have the Project64.exe that will be your executable in the Mala configuration.

P64 is now running via Mala. I'm having a problem when I ESC P64 back to Mala. Here's the error message I'm getting. What can I do to fix this?
-
Which project64 graphics plugin are you using? Try a different one.
-
Looks like I'm using Jabo's plugin. Where can I get another video plugin and will it work better than Jabo? I was using GameEx and P64 worked flawless. Just started having problems while I'm using Mala :(

There are different versions of Jabo's plugin. What is the Name and the Version number that are you using? Who cares whether another video plugin is better than the one you're using? We're trying to troubleshoot a problem right now.
I was using GameEx and P64 worked flawless.
Why don't you just GameEx if it works flawlessly?
Just started having problems while I'm using Mala :(
Yeah, it appears in the beginning that you were trying to run the PJ64 installation file instead of the emulator, but I never heard feedback on my theory there. Just heard that it "is now running via Mala".

Below is a picture of my plug in folder. I was only asking if another plug in is better because maybe there's one out there that was released recently which may work a little better. That's all. Sorry if I offended you :)

Although GameEx was good for awhile, I like the versatility that Mala offers. I'm just new to it so some of these programs I was using in GameEx for the different emulators are causing some problems for me in Mala.

Sorry I didn't update you on that theory. Yes, you were right. I was running the install file instead of the EXE. P64 runs now in Mala.

The better one will be the one that doesn't cause you any problems. Offense?!? None taken. That image you posted shows that you have two graphics plugins available for you to use:
Jabo_Direct3D6
Jabo_Direct3D8
Just because those plugins are in your plugin folder does not mean you are using them. They are just available.
1) You need to go into Project64 and see which one of these two you are using, and then using the Project64 configuration set PJ64 to use the other one to see if the problem goes away.
2) You still haven't posted on whether the problem goes away when you run Project64 by itself instead of using Mala to run it. In other words click the Project64.exe icon in your Project64 folder. Then run one of your PJ64 roms from the Project64 menu to see if you still have the problem. You need to try this twice, once for each of the two graphics plugins.

Ahh. I assumed because they were in the folder that I was using the plugin. I'll give it a try and report back. Got a problem with Daphne too but I'll wait until this is taken care of.

P64 now works in Mala:) I switched graphics plug in and so far no glitches or error message. Thanks. Now to just figure out this daphne prob... will post later when I get home.

how did you get project 64 to work with mala?, mine keeps giving me this message: (Error: attempt to open file failed) P64 does however work flawlessly outside of mala.
Never mind, I got it.
