I play many of the classics most of the time (G&G, pacman, space invaders, 1942, donkey kong, gyruss, etc.) and a few newer games such as golden tee and wc bowling. All of the games I play are games that can be found in the US. I am quite sure that I am missing quite a few gems that I haven't been exposed to yet.
What I'm looking for is a fun game to play and it doesn't have to be 2 player simultaneous. Any suggestions?
What I'm not looking for is any fighting games (street fighter, mortal Kombat) since my t-sticks do not play well will those and I'm not very good at them anyway.

Bionic Commando, Rolling Thunder, Shinobi are all platform scrollers you might like.

Have you tried any of the top down shootemups?
Giga Wing, 19XX, DoDonPachi, Raiden all are definitely worth giving a shot

+1 for DoDonPachi
Helicopter Laser-type FTW!

You said you don't like fighting games but what about scrolling brawlers? Cadillac's and Dinosaurs is my favourite, Alien Vs Predator isn't bad either. Both play well with T-Sticks too ;)

I've tried all of those except for DoDonPachi. I'll have to try it out after work.

side-scrollers are fun. I remember spending plenty of quarters on double dragon when i was a kid. I'll have to check out those two as well.
My problem is that I always seem to stick with the games I have played before instead of trying new stuff. Especially if I have never heard of it before.
Thanks for the input on my gaming dilemma.

Strider is pretty fun, as is Final Fight and X-Men.

One of my fave games now in Mame... which I only discovered thru Mame... is Exed Exes. Quality vertical shooter. :applaud:

Both of the Dungeons & Dragons sidescrollers were great, IMO. I was scrolling through the list recently and discovered Blazing Star (or Blazing Sun?), and that's a really fun sidescrolling shmup.

Let's not forget about "Magic Sword". If you like Ghost and Goblins you'll love this one.

Have a crack at Terra Cresta - vertical shooter with a bit of variety, but very challenging.
Kung-Fu Master - Bruce Lee film rip-off cool game.
Turtles/Simpsons/Vendetta/Growl/Sunset Riders - excellent 4-player brawlers.
Contra/Midnight Resistance/Aliens Great side-scrolling shooters.
