I'm pretty sure this is something I'm not doing quite right. I've tried a search for this problem but couldn't find anything.
Basically if I plug my U360 into a USB socket on my Logitech G11 keyboard it works fine. I've been play testing it through that on my mock-up panel.
The problems come when I plug in the 4-port USB hub I also bought. If I plug my U360 in alone everything is fine still. I then plug in my Minipac and still all is fine. But then when I plug in my headphones the U360 suddenly is being non-detected. It's like the headphones pushes out the U360.
I've tried all sorts of configurations... plugging the headphones in alone at the keyboard etc. etc. but it as if I'm only allowed a maximum number of devices installed. As soon as the headphones go in the U360 gets pushed out. So I can play games OK but without sound.
Any ideas?

Are you powering the USB hub with a separate power supply?
I'm assuming you are connecting the USB hub directly to the PC and not through the keyboards hub, correct?
Does device manager still show the U360 when it gets kicked off?
Also, I'm assuming XP, correct?

At first I was connecting the hub through the keyboard. But then I tried direct to the PC and it was no different. Yes I am using Windows XP. And no I am not using a separate power supply to the hub but there is a small socket for one to be plugged into it. However I am hoping it won't be a power issue because I wanted my CP project to just have one lead plugging into the back.
When the U360 gets kicked off Windows tells me that a USB device is not recognised and that it it malfunctioning. It's always the U360 that it happens to whenever I plug in my headphones.
Hmmm..... maybe it's the headphones drawing too much power? I won't be plugging the headphones into the hub when the panel is finished. They can still be plugged into the PC directly or through the keyboard. The hub will be inside the panel with the 2x U360's and the Minipac plugged into it. (3 devices)

Yeah, sounds like a power issue. You seem to see the solutions:
a) don't plug too many devices in at a time, or
b) plug the hub into the power wall socket.
AFAIK, most hub problems are due to power (or the lack thereof). The port in the computer can supply only a limited number of miliAmps, 200 mA (minimum) or 500 mA (normal) IIRC, and most devices are rated 100 mA but can more, especially just after plugged in. Even if the computer is supplying the full 500 mA, 100 mA is probably being used by the hub, and probably 100 mA by the u360 & minipac. If the headphones is using 200+ mA when plugged in (or the u360 is 200 mA), there just isn't enough power.
