Title: POWERSTRIP, some help needed!
Post by: amiga500 on January 09, 2008, 08:44:51 pm
I was able to get the right resolution on my arcade monitor (640x480i) using the powerstrip software, except for the fact that when windows xp is loading the resolution and frequency is all wrong.
Is there a way that a PC booting shows the right resolution?

hope some help here!
thanks

Not if you are running windows. Powerstrip does not run until windows has loaded....

You could:

1.Get an ArcadeVGA - hardware modded gfx card with preprogrammed arcade modes that outputs 15Khz from boot (see Ultimarc.com)

2. not turn on your monitor until windows has booted.

Change the windows resolution to something other standard, 640x480. (e.g. 720x480)

XP will then switch to that resolution as soon as the welcome screen is displayed.

Ok, I'll try that, thank you.

At the moment I'm using the metod that Silver suggested: turn on the monitor after windows fully loads.
