I have a problem with some nes emulators ... when i run Mario Bros. with Jnes it runs normal from level 1 but when i use Nestopia or FCE Ultra it starts at a whole different level ?? Can somebody tell me why this is or if i can fix it some way ??

it's loading a saved state. There should be an option to disable this. I don't know where though, only really play emulators on my xbox.
I am however, 100% sure this is the case - even if you've never saved a state, the package you downloaded has been before.

As in "Super Mario Bro's" right?
If that's the case and you are using Nestopia your ROM actually has
a bad header. All the other Emulators will run bad Roms
but Nestopia only accepts Clean Roms.
Some searching for clean NES Roms might help;
but be warned however 90% of the Super Mario Bros 1
Roms in circulation are bad!
It may be inconvenient at first but this will tell you ahead
of time if you have bad Roms.
Purge all your bad Roms and then stick to Nestopia and
keep it clean.
Hope this helps..

Yep that helped ... tnx for the info all.
I found about 20 versions of this game and only with 1 version Nestopia tells that the condition is good and starts form level 1 :)

Wow, I never paid any attention to "bad" dumps, as I always run them on fce or nesticle.
thanks for that bit of into TD.

I am wondering if this holds true to the daphne roms as well. I have a couple games running in daphne that just want to keep looping through the same scenes. I have just finished configuring daphne so have not had a chance to play all the games yet, but from just loading up the game and letting them run through the sequence scenes, looks as though they are repeating.
Is there a saved state and or a switch that can be configured for daphne to remove the possible saved states of the game? I will do some search on this as well. Thanks for the info in the previous post. I am using FCEultra for my nintendo emulation. I am sure I will run into this problem as well. thanks for the update.
