Hey there,
I plan to be making a good version of my Control Panel. I will be adding in a 4-way Happ Super, and Pause, Exit, and Tab buttons.
I have 2 Happ Ultimates per player, and 6 buttons per player.
Thanks,

The layout looks fine but not sure why you need 2 joysticks per player?
Will there be a credit button or do you plan on a functioning coin door?
Good luck on your project.

I will have an insert coin button my may EVENTUALLY have a coin door. The reason i have two joysticks per play is because my Dad and I love to play a game called Total Carnage. It's 2 Player simultaneous.
Oh, here's the .dwg if anyone wishes to make any changes.

I considered having two joysticks per player on my panel also.... for dual Smash TV. But I realised that personally the number of times I'd play 2-player Smash TV it just didn't warrant the expense/effort of including them.
But yeah... if you are gonna use them then go for it. Hella fun!!! :applaud:

Can anyone suggest where I could put my dedicated 4-way and my other administrative buttons?
Thanks,

I like the least amount of buttons as possible. I would get rid of the 2 buttons at the bottom near the trackball. You won't' need administrative buttons once your machine is setup correctly. If your using an Ipac you can use the shift feature to quit and pause games. Make a keyboard accessible and you'll be able to get to anything when you need to.
As for the dedicated 4 way... I don't like frankenpanels so I can't recommend a good place to put one on this panel that would be comfortable.

Definitely have exit and pause, but no tab button. You can always assign tab to a series of buttons on your panel so it isn't accidentally pressed but still accessible.
The 4way should be above the 1player 8way so you can share the buttons. Also, the two below the trackball, I assume those are for mouse buttons. Those are good to have for games like golden tee, turn left and turn right, but relocate them to above the trackball and spaced further apart. Many people rest a hand on the control panel when working the trackball or preparing for a big swing, don't want to hit a button before that.

Thanks Green Giant, here's an updated picture. Please criticize.
The Magenta coloured button is an exit button put specifically there so it ant be accidentally pressed (Have to go around the joystick or over). The three buttons above the trackball are the mouse buttons and also can be used (with a little configuration change in MAME) as secondary Player 1 buttons.
Enjoy,

Another reason you may want to move the dedicated 4-way is because of games like Golden Tee and Capcom Bowling. People tend to get a little aggressive with the trackball and it is generally a good idea not have a joystick impede their follow-through.

I don't really play Golden Tee that much, but if they complain I'll just say "live with it."
