Title: Help with ViewSonic VX900
Post by: Yegorushka on January 05, 2008, 03:46:02 pm
My first post so... Hello everyone!

My monitor:
ViewSonic VX900
Model # VLCDS26105-2W

Problem:
When monitor is turned 'on' image shows for only about a second after that it goes black, monitor stays on. I'm using a VGA cable because i don't own DVI cable. I have tried different video cards with it and same thing happens. Does this LCD monitor need a driver in order to work properly? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
PS: Please excuse my grammar.  :)

try changing the screen resolution with another monitor and then hook this one back up.

maybe it is set for the wrong resolution and it cannot display it perhaps.

or perhaps when you switched card it is now on 16 bit color when it needs to be on 32 bit etc.

there may be a faulty 'lytic cap in the smps ( look for doming and/or evidence of leakage).
or a fault on the inverter pcb . the inverter supplies hv for the ccfl tubes.  no hv , no light !

if you have an image ( look closely), an inverter fault is likely.
no image, check caps in smps.....

if your lcd uses an external switch mode psu they can go faulty giving the same fault, way to prove that is if the on screen menu is always accessible
