Title: 19" LCD or 19" CRT
Post by: DaOld Man on January 04, 2008, 12:29:12 pm
I am thinking of using a 19" LCD for monitor rotate project. Would like your opinion.
Thanks.

If you are going through the trouble of rotating why on earth not use a 19" arcade monitor?  You'll be able to play pretty much EVERY SINGLE ARCADE GAME at it's correct resolution that way!  If I had the engineering skills I would have gone that route.

Well, thats why Im asking this question.
A LCD would be a lot easier to rotate than a CRT.
I want to know the advantages of a PC monitor over an LCD. (I dont have an arcade monitor, so it will be PC CRT, if I use it.)
I play some mame games on my desktop LCD, and they look pretty good, of course Im sitting right in front of it.

If an arcade monitor is out of the question, then I'd go LCD.  There really isn't enough benefit of a high res CRT over a high res LCD to justify the extra pain it would be to rotate.

I'd still get an arcade monitor though.  ;D

Get the real thing, an arcade monitor. Nothing beats it for the real arcade feeling.
