In xbox live's history, something similar has happened twice already and they've promised a free game.  Both times it's been Joust (which btw is the cheapest and least popular game they have).  So expect joust.

The wife wants Bejeweled 2 or the Billiards game...  I'd play those.

It's a Live Arcade game, so don't hold your breath. I'm just glad the issues happened at a time where I wasn't even playing my 360 that much. I was visiting family and working on some projects around the house.

Thanks for the info but I was joking.  The reason I mentioned Shivering Isles is that it is one of the more expensive downloads.

I read that TRON was to be released today (haven't checked yet).  This is the lightcycles, tanks, etc. version not DOT.  Although DOT is supposed to be released in the near future, as well.    :applaud:

Yeah it's out and it's the original with the four game modes.  It's not as much fun as I thought it'd be.  Spinning with the right stick is a pain.

"We're pleased to announce that beginning next Wednesday, 2:00 a.m. PST through Sunday, 11:59 p.m. PST, Xbox LIVE members worldwide can download the full version of the recent award-winning Xbox LIVE Arcade game, Undertow."

...

Do you already have that game?  It's 800 points, after all so I'm not really going to look a gift horse in the mouth.  Especially since the Live outage din't affect me one bit.  I'd wager that it didn't really affect your life either.

I completely agree.  :-\   Hopefully, Discs of TRON will turn out better.

I'd expect it to be much worse.  At least in Tron you only use the spinner 75% of the time.

Some people say the game is better if you use option C on the controls.  It does make the shooting somewhat easier but for some reason they take away the d-pad in that mode so I can't move with any precision.

No, they are giving a $10 Live Arcade game called Undertow.

I didn't really care for it all that much (Not bad. Just not worth $10), but it was pretty well reviewed.

...and Undertow is now a free game.

Get it while it's hot.

Get if IF you can.  Lol poor m$, the added bw from everybody trying to dl this crappy title killed their network again.  My xbox live account is still erroring out regularly, much more so than when these supposed problems were going on.

If you already have the demo downloaded it should just unlock the full game.  Takes about a second.

I got it, don't like it...   ::)  Oh well, for free I guess I can't complain.  I wish they just would have given out some M$ points.

I couldn't get it a first but finally I was able to download it. Didn't try it yet though. I hear it is not that great. Oh well.

Some people are actually suing over the interruptions.

Wow.

"Ahhh, my life is over! I can't log onto XBOX LIVE. I need to commit suicide now!".

Yes, a class action lawsuit because of server problems is that retarded. Hell, PAYING for access to Xbox live is retarded in the 1st place.

I dunno what the circumstances in that case are, but the Live server issues were quite the pain for me, and it didn't have anything to do with playing over the internet. (Well... It did that too, but that wasn't the big issue for me.)

I had to replace my 360, and MS DRM forces me to stay connected to Xbox Live in order to be able to use the hundreds of dollars of content that I have purchased.

During the Live issues, I was not able to play 90% of my Live Arcade titles, and my Rock Band content was inaccessible. :(

Don't think I would specifically sue because of service outages, but the thought sure has crossed my mind about that stupid DRM crap.

I would definitely say you have  a case in that respect. MS DRM is a bloated piece of crap that ticks off many more everyday folk who pay, than it does to prevent pirating.

I just DL'd the game and it's ok for a game I didn't have to pay for.  However, it's not a game I'd have bought to begin with.  I'd much rather have Gyruss, Bejeweled 2 or the Billiards game, personally....
