Was posted on a Dutch forum. This is somewhere in London.....
Now, my very first thought was: Original Japanese Namco Galaxian !!! YUMMM !!!!
Then I looked again at the 2nd pic. Check out the text on the bottom of the side-art:
Reads: <unreadable> Bertolino - Torino - Italy
Interesting. Did some google research and Bertolino was Atari's official importer then.......
-
Official IMPORTER? Or official licensed manufacturer/distributor? Some companies had rights to manufacture cabinets and sell games, under license from other companies (much cheaper than importing a boat load of 300 pound machines).
Its not uncommon for european versions of games to look like the japanese versions.
-
Let's say distributor. Definitely not manufacturer like f.i. Zaccaria was.
I do remember playing a Galaxian with button left-right control once in the 80's. No idea if it was a cab like this though.
I love that marquee....
Is the Japanese Galaxian artwork available somewhere ? Maybe in the big collection we got through the groupbuy ?
-
LOL ;)
I was there one year ago 8) This cab was (maybe is still ?) in a Virgin Megastore in London, the one just in front of the Dominion Theater.
Here's a picture I've done :

Thanks Bruno !
What was on that sign ? Instructions I guess ?
Looks like there's a 48-in-1 PCB in that machine....

Not that it matters really, but the unreadable part probably reads "F.Lli" which stands for "Fratelli" (ie brothers).
