I'm hacking a set of PC speakers and had to cut em to get everything out of the cases... as I'm looking I was wondering, rather than tape em together, why not just use quick disconnects? Is there some special property of speaker wires that won't let you? Thanks,

From my own work, I have found nothing wrong that prevents you from using quick disconnects on spearker wire. However with some computer speakers there might be a problem.. But I doubt it.
They're are only two wires right? Some have a third (White in my case) which I didnt even try playing around with.

If your speakers are like so many other small PC speakers they may have a thin wire to each speaker that is a single conductor inside of a shielded braid. If you have this sort of wire just strip it back so you can get at the single center conductor and pull back the shield so you can twist it into another connection point. Just connect these two to quick disconnects and you should be good to go. A bit of solder on the shield might help if you have problems crimping it. The center conductor can be doubled or tripled over if you need more to crimp to.
