Title: building own arcade control panel (what a pain)
Post by: Shane on March 17, 2002, 03:30:52 pm
such a pain it is, the first panel i made i wasnt paying attention and built a left and right handed joystick laying (DUH!)
the 2nd one is almost perfect but the buttons are a bit out of line  >:( so what im gonna do is even it out a bit by drilling more and cover it with plexi than put the buttons in and hope they stick ;D
also whats a good length for the space between buttons?

Well, if you're doing the six-button Street Fighter style, check this link http://home.cfl.rr.com/expression/joystick.html for a template.

The buttons have to be far enough away that you can attach the nuts from underneath. The template above allows for that.

well i would suggest you do what i am going to and many already have...get some cardboard and make your cp top on that first. that way you can try everything out first and if you dont like it get some more cardboard...also you can just fix it onto the cp top and use it as a template.
