The super auction is the way to go ;D

Ohh yeahh! After getting all the parts to restore my Crystal Castles cab to original condition (originally to be used for MAME), I went there looking for cabinets for my MAME project. I got a converted dig dug working all the way (with a shooter game inside though) for about 75. Also got a converted tron (again with a shooter inside) with the very sought after blue joystick for 175. The problem now is that I almost have all the parts to restore them to originals and am back to where I started: still need a MAME cabinet!

That might be nice for some but not that the way to go for me. Super Auctions just doesn't go to Washington state.

I'm going in May for the first time.
Is there big price difference for working cabs in decent shape compared to buying from a local dealer?
I'm looking for Race Drivin' and Tron, anyone know a fair prices I should pay? I'm not looking for mint cabs just fair to good and working of course.

Double damn! Why can't SuperAuctions ever come up to WA??? or any auctions for that matter??
-
Thought I'd bump this to the top since the FULLERTON, CA auction is Saturday march 1st. Wish i could go. If you go and see a nice MK2 cabinet or something that will fit a 27" TV pick me up one. ;) Maybe see what the going prices are for some of these games.

Damn you are really having a good look through these boards :o

hehehehe what's teh motto."plan, plan, then plan some more.." ;)
Also I am going through each page and bookmarking relevant threads. I'll categorize them and see if the webmasters want to use it as a reference point for n00bs like me. I am only on page 59 (going backwards). funny to see people talking about the possibility of an I-pac 56.. :)

do they usually go to Mass? or is it us New Englanders lucky day?
-
Man.. they actually seem to do a lot of shows in Mesquite, TX.. too bad it's 250+ miles from Houston.. nobody ever does shows down here (probably because it would cost too much).
I still would like to get up there for a show and try to get a dedicated cab or 2 sometime, though.. maybe after I get my tax returns (and I'll have to get someone with a truck to go up there.. doesn't anyone rent trucks without per mile charges?! >:().

If anyone's near Kansas City, I've got more cabs to throw away.

Check the website for a complete schedule http://www.superauctions.com (http://www.superauctions.com)
It looks like they are coming to Boston Area in June. Sign up for the mailing list they will let you know.
They only come around here twice a year on a Tuesday niught and it really sucks. A saturday would be nice.
Also I feel US Amusements are better sign up for the email list from them at http://www.usamusement.com (http://www.usamusement.com)

You just had to rip me out of lurker mode didn't ya? ;)
what/where/when/howmuch?
-
how much to ship one or two to Southern california?? Prob. more than the cabinets worth.. :( Still may be a viable option though..

My brother actually lives up in the Dallas (Mesquite) area and he went to one of these shows this past summer looking for a Gauntlet Dark Legacy machine. Of course those new ones go for a lot, but he saw some good prices on other (older) stuff too.
I may have him go check on a Midway cabinet for me. I reeeeeally want one. :P Doesn't even need a good game in it. I live in south Texas on the border so getting up there just for an auction isn't that easy, but he's got a truck. Lucky me, I suppose.

Diddo! I"m in Emporia! Whatcha got?!?!

Hey AlanS, what about the Corpus auction? It's actually the same distance from me as Mesquite (from N. Houston), but would take an hour longer to get to (so says mapfinder anyways).
Didn't even see the Corpus one when I first looked :-[..

Dang guys, the last couple of times I posted I couldn't even give stuff away, I didn't think I'd get a response and now I'm swamped with messages. I threw away 7 cabs last time.
I guess this is the wrong forum but anyway rather than answer all the messages individually. Here's the deal. All games are minus boards and monitors.
$40 as is/free next weekend completely stipped
Pole Position upright-fair (was a mame cab)
Turbo upright- good
Neo Geo- good but generic looking cab.
$50 as is/ I'm not throwing them away.
Rare super tank 2 player game-good
astrofighter cocktail-good
Working sit down turbo $150.
And no I won't ship, I'm 30 miles east of worlds of fun. dw_pacman a t hotmail I can get more in a month or so if you're not interested in these. Most upright games I'd sell for $20 w/o board or monitor and free stripped.
Thanks
Dave

Wish their site was up so I could see where the Fullerton CA one is today... No money anyway...
