Title: What is your "real" age?
Post by: ChadTower on December 28, 2007, 10:37:48 am
clicky (http://www.embedtube.com/uploads/33101407Realage.swf)

Biological age: 32
Real Age: 28.2
Average Life Expectancy: 74
Your Life Expectancy: 77.8

If this is correct, it is amazing how a few very simple and easy things can add years onto the end of your life. Seat belts, not smoking, a little exercise...

I got whacked hardest, I think, by very poor sleeping habits, and helped the most by the aforementioned and a family history of people commonly living to their late 80s and beyond.

I have 15,500 more days to live.  :-\

It's funny to see how being married or not and/or being single can add or take away to a persons life, according to this test.  :dunno

Wow, I thought I was "young" but Shmokes beat me by a long shot.

Biological age: 33
Real Age: 16.2
Average Life Expectancy: 74
Your Life Expectancy: 90.8

Yeah, being married and having a short commute is where it's at.  (Not smoking is a given.)

Biological Age: 40
Real Age:         21.5

My Grandparents all lived into their 90's.  My dad died at 67 though due to smoking.  I've never smoked so hopefully I'm leaning more towards my grandparents life expectancy.

Sitting in traffic for many hours every morning is enough to cut a persons life in half.

Yeah, I cheated in a way because I don't have any commute at all.  I walk to school every day.  But that's only going to account for three years of my life.

Is that why you have no idea what you've said half the time?   ;D

The short commute thing didn't work for me - my commute is 15 easy minutes but I go places on weekends that definitely up my driving time substantially.  So leisure trips that otherwise would count as relaxation get counted against me here.

Getting in a car is probably the most dangerous activity that most of us engage in.  The sheer number of deaths and serious injuries from accidents is unbelievable.

Except for those who use those little 3-to-2 plug convertors ...  ;)

Don't worry, there are more than enough completely stupid, moronic, zero intelligence idiots out there to help keep our lives short.  Chances are we'll be killed not by our own doing, but because of something some complete retard does that costs us our life and not his/hers.  (Like the idiot oil-tanker driver who was speeding AND weaving in and out of traffic in a dangerous part of I-95 here in CT.  He swerved into someone, rolling his tanker over, spilling hundreds of gallons of diesel fuel onto the road and taking the lives of multiple drivers who were obeying the law and not acting like idiots.  Thankfully, in that case the idiot ended up dieing in the crash and while I don't wish death upon people that often, I openly laughed and cheered knowing that idiot was dead.  Sad thing is, he took other people with him when he left.   :'( )

Hence all the accident-related deaths every year where the police say "this could have been avoided by the use of a safety belt."

You might only need it 1/10000th of your driving life, but damn if you don't REALLLY need it then.

It doesn't bother me when people fail to wear seatbelts and they die as a result of the crash.  Thier death doesn't really cost the taxpayers or the healthcare system any time or money.  Since they're dead, they don't need medical care.  It's when they fail to wear a seatbelt and survive the accident that it pissed me off.  Because then they survive and put a burden on our healthcare system and us taxpayers have to pay for it.  (I'm in a bit of tax piss off mood right now.  I looked at my final paystub for the year and saw that this year I had more taken out in taxes than my annual pre-tax salary was the first year I worked full time!!!!)

So I think that if a cop comes across an accident scene where someone wasn't wearing a seatbelt and the person has survived, they should just shoot them in head and kill them.  :P ;D

Here in Florida the cops have a right to ticket people who are not wearing their seat belt, this is ---That which is odiferous and causeth plants to grow---.

Motorcycle drivers are able to not wear a helmet here and not get bothered about it. If a person wants to not wear a seatbelt it should not be of anyone's concern and surly not needing a ticket for it.

a bit more uniform in oz. you can get booked for not wearing a seatbelt or not wearing a helmet (when on a motorbike naturally) anywhere in australia. i think most states you can get booked for talking on a mobile phone while driving too.

the main reason as stated above is the burden to society when people are injured. even if they die outride it is a burden since presumably that person had dependants, or worked or both etc.

Ticket and fine for both not wearing a seat belt or not wearing a helmet.  Of course, with public health care, we kinda try and keep people from hurting themselves, even if they're too stupid to do it themselves.

You know, you bring up a good point here indirectly. With states that have seatbelt laws, wouldn't motorcycles be illegal? ;)

Nothing pisses me off more than when a punk kid is out on his rice burner driving like a maniac. If he ---smurfs--- up anywhere near me on the road, I would be held responsible because it is the motorvehicle drivers responsibility to be aware of motorcyclists.

Amend the law so that if caught driving without a belt - you permanently get changed to organ donor status.  Ditto cycling without a helmet.

They could change it so the first penalty is $5000 - second penalty is a testicle or a breast.  People still wouldn't care.
