Title: CGA monitor problem
Post by: strith on December 27, 2007, 05:01:26 pm
I built my MAME arcade machine about 3 years ago. I moved to the west coast and left it in my parents basement, I finally came back to visit and setup my arcade machine and the monitor fuse blew. I bought another one, and replaced it. It started up again, but I had a black bar scrolling through the monitor and the monitor continued to flicker although I adjusted the V&H hold and positions. After about 30 minutes the screen went black and now I get no picture! It powers up without anything displaying on the screen.

It's a CGA monitor. Not sure of the make.

If anybody could help it would be greatly appreciated.

typical basement moisture will accelerate oxidation !  and quite likely if unused 3yrs.
likely failures in hv/sweep and/or pwr sup .

need more info to provide more specific assistance.
