Just wondering, are there any games in Mame that would benifit from a high end video card or extra video memory? I have a ATI x300 running soft 15khz but I need to upgrade to get future pinball running better. I can get away a X1950 ATI card 256megs that will run future pinball but for $80 more I can get an ATI HD3870 512MB. Question is will the ATI HD3870 make any difference with any games in MAME?

All graphics are software render in MAME, your graphic card is only used to display the final frames and for res. scaling. MAME in theory could get by with a 2D only graphics card with about 16mb of ram, basically there is no advantage to running a high end graphics card for MAME, it just doesn't need it. Onboard graphics still slows things down a bit due to the CPU and Memory overhead.
