Just found this:
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/volumouse.html (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/volumouse.html)
You can make the scroll wheel of your mouse control your PC's volume setting with this app. If you've got a spinner connected to the Z-axis on an Opti-Wiz, you're golden. Should also work with any cheap mouse's scrollwheel hacked to a knob. Can be set so that it only controls the volume when a certain key is pressed (or a lot of other conditions, if you like), so your spinner will still be a spinner the rest of the time. You can also set it to work "when no button or key is pressed", so you can make a fulltime volume knob if you want.
Freeware; can't beat the price, either. 8)

Another option (works with X, Y, or Z axis, plus any key combinations):

Awesome! I might have to try that mouse scroll wheel hack. I just happen to have one that my kids completely wore out the left click button on. Thanks for the info guys.

Cool, Andy, I hadn't seen that. Can yours be mad to work without a hotkey, for a fulltime volume knob? No good on an arcade cab, but on a dedicated juke...

This feature was in Arcade Music Box (X or Y axis) nearly since beginning, but only without a shift button I remember.
I implicated this in MultiJuke (All 3 axis) as well, where you can use a "Volume Spin" (as I called it) button as well or not. ETC MultiJuke would greatfull use a spinner to its fullest in MultiJuke both Arcade and Jukebox modes....
Otherwice it a great addications for those using a spinner for a any type of cabinet, if you have a spinner or trackball.

Should definitely be possible, I'll look into it. In fact someone asked about it before, but there didn't seem to be much interest. Do people really put spinners on their jukeboxes just for volume control? Too rich for my blood. ;D

I think Ahole is right. A Volume Spinner might work better on a cabinet without touchscreen. With touchscreen, make a onscreen volume knop instead, possible with pincode protected Or use a Remote control (which normally not have such a spinner on it).
Personly no buttons should been added in a touchscreen cabinet, that is why you try to hide all buttons, unlike example my own software that was designed with buttons in mind.
Otherwice it should been pretty easy to made this features in the touchscreeen application, But warning, Z axis is far defficent than X and Y.
Arcade Music Box / MultiJuke was designed with mame arcade cabs and buttons in general, so this is why I got that idea and supported a volume spinner with a shift button (which can been disabled here).

I should just change my login to that already. :laugh2:

I wouldn't put a real spinner on just as a vol knob, but I might hack an el-cheapo mouse's scroll wheel to make one.

Hehe, sorry, ahofle.
Otherwice should been simply by Jukebo developers to add... Even If I got the idea first, but ok if others do the same.

As this can be done with the two apps mentioned here, i don't see much point in adding it to freebox and re-inventing the wheel

OK Kremmit I added the ability to have the hotkey be optional.
