I have the Ultimarc 360 with Happ Buttons. I'd like to wire them together and also use the Shift key for one joystick.
I am aware of how to wire the buttons to the 360 from this site: http://bellasarcade.blogspot.com/2007/04/control-panel-wiring.html
To recap:
1) the ground button is the black wire on the wiring harness, this wirte is connected to the common (bottom tab) on each button, daisy chained together.
2) Normally closed (top tab on button) is not used
3) Normally open (middle tab on button) is wired to one color on the wiring harness except not black wire.
3) Button 8 is the shift key, which is violet. If you press and hold this button, then shift is available. You have to download firmware for the shift functionality.
Can I download the firmware and install it for Joystick 1, while Joystick 2 will not have any shift functionality?
My little rant:(I'm kinda amazed that these joysticks are not sent with any instructions, but oh well, first time I have purchased something that doesn't include instructions.)

I would download the firmware and apply them to both joysticks. Not because it will hamper gameplay, but because you never know if plans change down the road. Might as well spend the extra 5 seconds of effort now while your doing it instead of later when it might not be as easy. ;)

Its a good point which you raise. For our other products we include a CD with utilities and instructions. The instructions are a PDF of the website pages because we have a policy of making all information available on the website so everything can be seen before purchase. We stopped sending the CD with U360s as we found the CD was being damaged in transit with the style of packaging used for the joysticks.
The instructions are here: http://www.ultimarc.com/ultrastik_inst.html (http://www.ultimarc.com/ultrastik_inst.html)
We might try to find a better way to package the CD and include it again.
