Hi,
Was looking to buy a cheap barebones system for $149 (no tax and free shipping) at http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3523620&CatId=332
However, it only has an AGP slot (no PCIe). Will I really see a performance difference in MAME if I go for the AGP version of Ultimarc's Arcade VGA card? It's also cheaper at $87 .vs $97 for the PCIe version of the Arcade VGA card.
I am currently running a Pentium 4 - 1.7ghz and it runs just fine (AGP NVidia with Powerstrip resolutions installed). I already have a dedicated arcade IDE hard drive which I swap out in my current system when I want to use the arcade. So this would be an upgrade so that I can take back my Pentium 4 for e-mail and word processing. :)
Again... it will be a DEDICATED computer strictly running MAME, not for 3D PC games or anything.
Thoughts?

** EDIT: I ended up getting a faster processor 4000+ X2 AMD which needed a different Motherboard (which has PCIe). Problem solved (even if it is $10 more) :P

I don't see what the PCI version would add. My AGP versions are arcade perfect. How do you improve on that?

You are correct. There is not much difference. My buddy has AGP and is works just fine. However, the board that I got just happened to come with PCIe so it was an extra bonus.
