Wow. That's just cheapass. And maybe dangerous. (http://pizdaus.com/single.php?id=10465)

I'm not buying it. That's almost certainly a fake.
It would probably cost more to manufacture a small capacitor plus a fake empty big one than just a genuine big one. They're not made of expensive materials.
Even if it does save a tiny amount of money, why put markings on the small capacitor?

Not in a place where tooling is far far more expensive than labor. Apply Chinese or Mexican scale economics rather than American.

Because the small cap was made by someone else.

Another reason not to buy anything from them.

i think i agree with grasshopper. chad, it seems to me that to build them like that would take a lot more time. and whatever the cost of tooling vs labour, time is the killer in a factory...

Is it when you're only paying the labor third world rates? Keep in mind that in a lot of countries they use the cheapest labor and don't even have much tooling, they just employ more people to work in parallel. You can always get rid of people, but if you invest in tooling, you're in it for the long haul.

I've heard of fake caps before, but in those instances it was just a matter of a different print on the cap (might even have been an accidental misprint)
-
Maybe they're caps for russian stacking dolls.

I THOUGHT THIS THREAD WAS GONNA BE MORE ABOUT THIS <--- !!!

I swear I've seen that photo before a few years ago. Can't remember what it was about.
Not sure if it's actually from China or if someone labeled the photo that since it's the in thing to do. In any case, I would be in agreement with Chad. People will do anything if they think they can make a buck.

They just wanted to keep the stock look. ;)

Why didn't they open the blue cap to see if there was another inside of it?
:laugh2:

So, now we gotta tap on every cap we buy to hear if it's hollow inside :laugh2: :laugh2:
Sithmaster, please don't open up your computer or cabs, as there are heaps and heaps and heaps of parts from China and Mexico in there ! Guess why you pay an affordable price for things like a PC ?
-
Remember that last month everyone thought lantern batteries had 32 AAs in them!
LOL I saw that video and was fooled too (apparently). Where did you see that it was bogus?
EDIT: nevermind, snopes: http://www.snopes.com/photos/humor/batteryhack.asp

Im just saying i would prefer something american made. Not saying that we make things as well as we used to (look at ford) but why would i want to buy something from china when they are going to be tricking consumers by making crappy products.
