Title: I want to make a single-player Xbox arcade joystick, are there any guides...

...around on the  internet? I don't know what points I'll need to solder to or if it's necassary at all. Is it possible to use a  mad-catz controller for one?

Xbox or Xbox 360?

Yes, the 360. Is it yet possible to map to the analog controls instead of the directional pad?

Short answer, no.  You can check the link in my signature to a guide on how to do all the rest, though.
