It's crap like this that give MAME and the community a bad name (in the eyes of arcade enthusiasts)...

Please tell me that trackball panel is detachable...
-
The wood "shelf" under it seems to indicate it is not.
-
They may only be there for display purposes... they're just resting on a pair of 2x4s. That doesn't look like a permanent configuration.
-
Human physiology would prove that setup unplayable after about 5 minutes (for everything except trackball games at least). My lower back hurts just looking at that :dizzy:. This guy should've just stopped at the x-arcade sticks, but he had to torpedo a cabinet first before he lost interest. :tool:
-
"Restored" huh? He must have a unique definition of that word in mind that only he is privy to.
-
Damn, he is making us South H-towners look bad.
-
Actually, it's from North Houston, he's making ME look bad!
It would have been okay if he had made a way to make the control panels swappable and more integrated into the cabinet.

Oh come on Cake...it's NEVER "OK" to use an X-Arcade CP in your cab...NEVER.

ahhhhh my eyes....kids dont look directly at IT....ahhhhhh the horror

Why must you hate the brotha T so?

"These controllers are AWESOME...just like authentic arcade controls"
*sigh* Man I'm glad I took the time to build my own panel with sanwa parts instead of getting something crappy like that to slap on.
I would rather have left the crappy 10 year old HAPP equiped CP that came on my cabinet than swap in an X-arcade.

He slapped in a Happ so it wouldn't be crap.
-
Hey, you're controls weren't HAPP, they were cheap knock offs from Sweden.

I just don't want my side of Houston associated with this northside abomination. Since you are close you need to go over there and go to that thing with a sledge, spruce it up a bit.

I've used x-arcades on a few machines because I have them. Depending on their application - they aren't terrible.
How's that for a product recommendation? "They aren't terrible" -LeapinLew

Funny but seemed like a cheap Maddox knockoff.

I don't think the X-Arcade cps are attached since he mentions that they come with the box.
-
I think they are attached and are meant to be played like that because he says in his blurb.... "with a modified front panel to accomodate the two X-Arcade controllers" . Looks like they would be easily detached though.
Either way it looks quite horrific. Even if he wanted to be lazy and still use the X-Arcade components, how hard would it be to take them apart and just pop the bits into the original panel? Or just nail some 3/4" wood across the the front and pop the controls right on top? Even that would be better. :dunno
Having said all that he probably just wants rid of the whole thing and if he did dismantle the controllers he cold lose some selling potential. He does say he has the original boxes for the controllers and I could see someone just wanting those.
