I'm trying to set up a button on my control panel just to escape out of games, etc. I know I can (could) use the shift-Player 2 functionality on the IPAC but for some reason that has stopped working. Can anyone tell me how to program a button so that I can ESC out of games and/or get the shift functionality working again on my IPAC?
Thanks in advance. I'm nearing the end of this project and, like most projects, the last "small things" are driving me crazy. :hissy:

You can program mame to escape with any key. Hit tab in mame and select the.... there is an option in there. I can't think of the name of it but it's a general settings or something.
As far as getting your shift functionality back. Afraid I can't help you with the information you've provided. Hopefully my first answer will be sufficient.

Another thing I would like to recommend is that there is a thread out there that many others and myself have made that shows you how to set it up so that the escape key needs to be held in for 2 seconds to work to avoid those accidental presses.

Do you have the WinIPAC software loaded?
If so, that will let you set your shift key and tell the system which key to use for ESC.

Intrigued... do you have the link for this?... That might be just the ticket I need for my CP.

Thanks mccoy. I was about to post a reply saying the link (tot eh picture) was broken, but you fixed it. Thanks.
And now, I'm off to look at how to delay exiting a game :P
