Title: Is $200 worth it?
Post by: Neverending Project on December 03, 2007, 01:52:18 pm
I, like most people I would assume, regularly search my local Craigslist for those too-good-to-be-true deals. Today I came across a Lethal Enforcers cabinet, that according to the poster works very well. Normally I would pass since i am not in the market for a new cabinet. But they are only asking $200.

I am not really in the market for a Lethal Enforcers, but $200 for any working cabinet (let alone one it good shape) seems too good to pass up. Would any light-gun JAMMA PCB work? Should I get it?

This one really depends on cabinet/condition. If you have pics, post them.

Meh, it's okay.  Decent price for a 25" cab, IF it's a 25" cab.

I was posting the link when you out-posted me. It is true that the pics are a warning. But since it is Craigslist you can always see before you buy. And considering many people use their cell-phone cameras and do not know how to take a decent picture to save their life, you can sometimes find some good deals.

But all said and done, it does scream "caveat emptor".

I'd buy it just to get that marquee of the chick with a gun. >:D

Wow, I must have missed that one. I'm in PDX as well. Might have to go take a look. Have you contacted the seller yet? Let me know if you are going to pass on it (if he hasn't sold it yet).

$200 is pretty much average market value unless its mint. The guns are the expensive part to replace.

Hell is freezing over ... I agree with PBJ ... :dizzy:

Lethal Enforcers was my first gun game and isn't bad for a first gun game, but gets really tedious really quickly.

Be warned that not all guns / games are wired the same way (the guns don't run through the JAMMA harness) and you can (apparently ... it's never actually happened to me) blow a board by hooking up the guns the wrong way, so you may need a converter to convert a particular gun harness to another game.

I'm thinking I will pass on this one. If anyone else is in the Portland area, feel free to have a go.

@one2three: I have not heard back from the seller, but the ad is still online. I will let you know if I hear from him.

Got a call from the seller today. Sounded like a kid (may have been a woman). Told them I wouldn't be able to get out there until Monday and to go ahead and try to sell it. Asked them to call me on Monday if they don't have a buyer. We'll see how it goes.

As NP said; If anyone else is in the Portland area, feel free to have a go.

That is pretty funny. I received two e-mails from the seller today, about 15 minutes apart. The first one said she still had it, and gave her cell number for directions. The second one 15 minutes later said if I was still interested to cell her cell phone. She must have heard that you couldn't make it until Monday, and tried to get me out there sooner.

Let me know what you find.

One2Three: Did you ever take a look at this cabinet? I am just curious about what you found.
