Title: Gallag coin counter?
Post by: Mauzy on November 30, 2007, 07:17:24 pm
I have a Gallag board running in my JAMMA wired Galaga cabinet with an adapter. I looked up the pin out for Gallag, and found that there isn't a coin counter output. Any one know how I could rig one up? I'd like to keep track of how many games my family and I play just for the heck of it.

BTW, is there a Galaga clone that runs off the orig. Galaga wiring harness? I found several sites that say Gallag does, but I also found several that say it doesn't. Mine doesn't, but there seems to be a lot of confusion on the subject...

If your cabinet is JAMMA... then just try connecting a meter to the standard pinout for a JAMMA coin meter.

Well, the problem is that Gallag doesn't have a coin counter pin on the board itself, so there isn't a trace going to what would be the coin counter pin on the JAMMA harness.

why not get a cheapo digital counter and wire it to the coin switches (assuming you are running 1 coin 1 credit)

It could still be done using the coin/credit switch but would probably require a relay and power source setup to trigger the mechanical counter.

Coin switch triggers the relay which in turn triggers the counter.
