Another GroovyGameGear Innovation!  Use this little "gem" to turn your IL  / HAPP SUPER Joystick into a true, physically-restricted 4-way.

Only $4.95 each (SUPER Joystick sold separately)

As always, thanks go out to all those who support GGG through their purchases, which help us to make new items like this one possible.  More to come....

With a super costing $8 + $5 for the restrictor = good deal for a dedicated 4-way.

i'm guessing this is pretty close to a ms pac / galaga reunion stick.

from what i can tell, the reunion is essentially a super with non-switchable 4-way restriction.

perhaps the difference is shaft length, since the reunion was made for metal panels, and the longer tornadoterry's shafts are needed to mount them in wood panels.

so is a super + super 4-way equivalent to a reunion + tornadoterry's shaft?

Great idea.
Man, your produce images are getting good.  Just curious, did you design and draw the wizard guy yourself?

Sorry, haven't a clue.  I've never seen either of those items.

Thanks.  I'd like to take full credit for the "Wiz" but I purchased the artwork (plain B&W vector outline image) and modified / airbrushed it in Photoshop.

For those who were interested, I put the Groovy laser to work on a batch of these and the hardware has arrived.  The SUPER 4-Way Restrictor is now available from the store. (http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=71&products_id=310)

Sorry for the bumping of an old thread but wanted to put my 2 cents in in case anyone was looking to get this.  I got one of these this weekend and it works great!

I'm thinking about getting one of these restrictors for a Happs Super I have sitting around.   Just curious if they work well and do they feel similar to the Pac reunion sticks?

Thanks!

I've used them on a few machines. Love'em.

I just ran a Google search for "Happ Super 4-way restrictor" and naturally I end up right back here where I should have started in the first place.

Sorry for necro-farming this thread, but I'm really interested in this product.

As far as compatibility goes, are there any potential issues I should be aware of, or is a 4-way Super a 4-way Super?  I bought the stick about a year ago, if that matters.

Early Supers didn't have the two holes used for mounting the restrictor.  They can still be used, but the installation requires drilling the holes on these units.  If yours are newer than a few years, they should have those holes already.

Just thought I’d follow up on this and mention that I ordered and installed this part.

I had to slightly adjust the activation levers on two of the microswitches, but that took all of 5 minutes max.

I spent a few hours putting this thing through its paces and wow, what a difference—great product, worth every penny.

I was playing some Nibbler and whipping around corners more accurately than ever before.  This thing is going to get a workout in the next few weeks as I dig into the 4-way classics!

I’m not really sure how it compares to the “reunion” sticks as I’ve never used those, but I will say that the combination of the Super and the Super 4-Way restrictor from GGG make a great and inexpensive dedicated 4-way solution for a simple wood-panel installation.

Agree. I loved this thing. It doesn't get enough attention.

If I put the actuator in 4 way mode i cant go left or right but if i put it in 8 way mode i can still hit the diagonals. :(

You may have to tweak the levers slightly, depending on the type of switches installed.  It should be in "8-way" mode.
