been reading and asking question , i have mame32 0.103
hOW DO I USE THE FRONT END what is the front end ? Is that the emulator itself ?
i read AtomicFe is good , but i'm not sure how this all works ??

The front end is a pretty interface for the emulator.
Back in the day MAME was just command line. So if you wanted to run it, you'd type
"mame mslug -joystick -foo 800 -bar 600 blah blah"
Ugly! So frontends were invented, nice graphical interfaces which would type it all in for you. They just make running the emulator (and sometimes configuring it) easy.

hope somebody will correct this if im wrong ,
mame32 is a front end for mame , you dont need another front end for it.
you would use just mame with a front end , not mame32

Yeah... MAME32/MameUI is kind of a frontend and emulator in one.

I've been using MAME32 with MaLa and I am running into problems as the MAME32 keys seems to control just MAME32 and not MaLa. I downloaded the latest version of MAME (not MAME32) and I can't find an exe. file. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you downloaded the source, instead of the binary. You can either compile your own, or download the binary (mame0121b.exe). ;)
