Time to get rid of a bunch of stuff for xmas fundage (for gifts for me, of course).
I have some CycloDS Minis and Micros left over. All brand new, of course.
They are both slot 2 devices that would require either a flashed DS, a passcard, or a R4/M3 Simply/Evolution card in slot 1.
The minis are the same size as a GBA card, and take MiniSD cards.
The micros are the same size as the slot 2 cover on a DS Lite.
Both are comaptable with a DS Lite, while the "micro" will not fit in a DS "Phat".
These are a great add-on for anyone who has a slot 1 card already. Or they are great to give new life to a GBA (SP, or micro). (I slapped one in a micro, let the kids go to town with it!).
Price: $25 shipped. I also have some memory for both models, so if you want a good deal on memory too, PM me for a quote of what I've currently got.
Please PM or post any questions for me.
Thanks,
Stobe

Does the GBA have to be flashed or will it work right out of the box?
-
Correct, GBA and NES roms can be played on a GBA,SP, micro.

I'm so sorry.... The Black Friday sale ends at midnight EST :'( :'(
j/k
Not a problem. Just PM me which one(s) you want.

Also, these work in the Gamecube GBA adapter so you can play NES games on a gamecube if you don't still have your NES hooked up. Or you can play your GBA games on a TV.
-Plus, they make great holiday gifts :)

Yes. The NES games are drag/drop, and the GBA games use a loader software (easy to use).

If it is slot 1, then it won't be able to load GBA. You need a slot 2 device to load GBA...

That's not exactly true.
And per the thread title, these are slot 2 devices.

I'm pretty certain it is...if you have both a slot 1 and 2 device you can load through slot 1...but if you try loading slot 1 without a slot two device, it freezes at flash logo Slot two uses the GBA processor and slot 1 has no access to it...
And per the thread title, these are slot 2 devices.

Sorry, that's what I get for trying to think this late at night. I confused myself. IIRC now, The slot 1 cards lack the memory to run GBA games themselves, and thus rely on the slot 2 cart.
Thanks for keeping me straight.

So it is plug and play for the GBA?
-
Yes, just use the loader software to get the roms on your memory card, then the GBA will run them just fine.
NES emulation is even easier, just drag/drop your favorite NES roms on the card and you have some mobile NES goodness!

I'll take a slot 2 Micro. PM coming your way.
-
Just making a suggestion...if you get both a slot 1 and slot 2 device you're going to get a lot more out of what you're doing...wether it be homebrew, or NDS/GBA roms.

Very true. And I can attest to the fact that <exageration>most of the members here</exageration> already got a slot 1 card from me earlier in the year. I'm just getting rid of the rest of my slot 2 stuff since some people didn't buy both the first time around.

Ahh, and only if my cycloDS still worked. :'( I have to send it to frikkin France tommorrow to get a replacement.
Anyways, will either of these things allow me to do the opera internet browser thing?
-
I've never done it, but the slot 2's that I'm selling are supposed to be able to be used as a rom cart (?) for the opera browser.
-
I'm fairly certain there is slot 2 browsers...I don't know if they are Opera persay...but there is bound to be one.
-
payment sent BTW
-
All orders shipped so far. Still have several "minis" and 1 or 2 "micros" left.
On a side note, I suggest everyone to get the latest loader software from the CycloDS website. But as of this writing, the site is down (has generic account suspended page as if they didn't pay their hosting bill or something?)
So if anyone has a recent copy of that software, let me know and I can host it on one of my sites.

My daughter hasn't stopped playing her GBA since I received my mini from Stobe.
NES are just drag and drop. The mini has a built-in emulator - same goes for Sega Master system. I think there is another as well but I haven't tried that.
GBA have to be patched using the software from the website but its really simple.
I have to say, this is the best money I've ever spent. :applaud:
By the way, Stobe shipped superfast - especially considering the holidays and all.
-
Thanks for all the orders so far.
I'm down to my last few units of both mini's and micro's.
I've actually been taking a small loss on these just to get rid of them. And I had no plans on re-ordering any more. But if the demand gets high enough, I will re-look into what I can get from my supplier.

do you have to use the rom patcher from they're web site for gba roms on a gba?

Yes.
It's a very simple process once you understand it.
Leave the miniSD formatted as FAT.
With miniSD installed in selected PC and designated within the application as destination, patch and result files needed will be copied to the miniSD.

I meant the slot 1 device. their naming convention sucks =)
I need a DS Lite CycloDS Evolution, at least I think thats what they are called. Also, flashing is easy :p who doesnt like jamming a small screw driver covered in tin foil into the battery compartment?

Just bought another one from him! I know have one for the DS and one for the GBA SP. The kids have stopped fighting over the DS and they leave me alone about who gets to play what!! (I only had one Cyclo so the kids really dont like the two games I have for the GBA.......pacman and some goffer game) Who doesnt like pacman!!!! I guess the kids today can not really feel that game. I still play on all my systems!!
But I must give greater credit to Stobe  Fast with the shipping and excellent pre and psot sales customer support!!!
