In the same folder as the ROM files.
In my setup I have something like this:
/mame/roms/game.zip
/mame/roms/game/<chdfiles>
-
in the rom i see zip files of the games i have . do i make anoter folder name Game
and then put the CHD in it ???
-
as per crummy's description, In your rom folder, you create a new folder for every game that has chd files and place them in there.
/mame/roms/area51.zip
/mame/roms/area51/<area51chdfiles>

when i go to play game it says bin not found ??
what am i doing wrong ??
I'm using Mame32 0.103 with update of
The Version.ini includes all games and *clones* added from MAME 0.53 to 0.121u1.
Also the extra MAME versions like 0.69a, 0.69b, 0.69u3, 0.70u4, 0.70u5...
-
Leave your roms in the main rom directory. Only the chd files go into the additional directory you created.
-
Yes, the games which have CHD files associated with them still have a separate "rom file" as well. The "rom file" should still be placed with all other rom files (ie: in the mame/roms folder). Then all the CHD specific image files should be placed inside a new folder (which you create) located within the "mame/roms" folder.
Example (as stated before)
/mame/roms/area51.zip
/mame/roms/area51/<area51chdfiles>
It sounds like you might be keeping the rom file and CHD image files together in the same location and this would be the problem. Hopefully this is what you are doing wrong......
