Title: Thank you
Post by: ChadTower on November 22, 2007, 03:54:37 pm

This community is one of the things for which I am truly thankful.  Arcade collecting/restoration can be a lonely, often selfish hobby if one does not have a quality community of friends to share it with.  On American Thanksgiving I thought I'd give a shot at communicating that to everyone at BYOAC.  Even when we're fighting we're still a tight knit group where no matter what happens we'll all be back tomorrow.  That's as close to working definition of family as I can come up with.

Thank you for being here.

Sorry, I've never done that before.  I also see it so rarely in this forum that it is one reason I am thankful to be a member.  People tend to take the time to respond to posts even if they've seen the question eleventy times before.  Actually even with the "WIKI" response they usually take the time to actually link to the relevant page, so that's not even too bad.

Thanks for being great people, people. :applaud:

Happy thanksgiving (if you're in the states) happy day and thanks for being you (if your not in the states)

There you go.

I suppose the Brits did invent this holiday, or British refugees at least.  We have a tendancy to use a lot of stuff you guys came up with, we just adapt it (or bastardize it) to fit our needs. Thanks for the language by the way, although that's one that I like your version of more sometimes. You guys have some great phrases.

No need to apologize for a "Wiki Response".  >:D

For the record, I did not invent that particular gem, but rather stole it from another member (who has put far, far, far more time and energy into the wiki than I ever will).

I am thankful for that member for originating the "Wiki Response", which I use and, apparently, is not seen as in an altogether altruistic light. It is not intended to be obnoxious (I can do that well enough without referring to the wiki (http://wiki.arcadecontrols.com/wiki/Main_Page)), but rather an enthusiastic reminder of a valuable body of information that has been assembled by people who took the time, put in the effort and may not be available to address each individual question.

Happy Thanksgiving to my neighbours to the south.

I was thinking of you when I posted that Cheffo.  You know what they say... "imitation is the sincerest form of flatulence" or something like that. I know you don't do it to be annoying because, as you said, when you want to be obnoxious you do a much more effective job than that.  As a NEIGHBOR to the south, thank you and happy late Canadian Thanksgiving to you.

Now Canada is just weird, North American English, The Queen's English, "Eh", and... a bunch of them think their French.  Oh, well at least their money is worth something.  ;)
