Hi,
cause of too much time I had a little idear ;-) .
I tinker some hard and software to turn the monitor in my Konami Quadro cab automaticaly. I use PCBs beside MAME and MaLa as frontend. As you may know you can use plugins in MaLa witch reacts on events sended by MaLa. My plugin "RotateScreen" turns the monitor automaticaly by means of the hardware once the orientation of a chosen game changes.
I added a docu in english (actually more "denglish", sorry :-) ). A little video is found at:
http://www.members.dokom.net/aklasener/RotateScreen.dvix
The complete docu with pictures, circuit layout a.s.o. is found at:
http://www.members.dokom.net/aklasener/RotateScreen.zip
Have fun!

looks great! What type of motor and drive (pressure drive, chain drive) did you use?

Hi,
thanks for the compliments!
@Patent Doc:
Hhmm, I thought about that and of course there is more waste if you turn the monitor often but there are no problems so far...
@csa3d:
As far as I know the motor is a wiper motor that runs on 12V. The monitor is screwed into a bicycle rim (no joke) and this rim is hold by four rubber rolls. A fifth rubber roll at the motor turns the monitor.
The whole construction is part of the cab and was made by the manufacturer. This is what makes this cab so wanted.

I could look at the wiring diagrams, but I cant open the video. What program do I need to open it?
BTW, good work!

I don't know if my curcuit will run on your namco cause I made it especialy to trigger the turning mechanism of my Quardo (I don't know how this mechanism works :-[ ) but if you have any question send me an pm, I'll try to help as much as I can.

WOW!!! That is awesome. I'm definitely going to try setting something like that up in my new cabinet... I have no idea where to begin but I'll muddle through it I guess.

Thanks denverlatino for posting that.
Ede, great job! I like it, I like it a lot!!

That is by far the coolest thing in a mame cab that I have ever seen.
Great job!

Hi,
I add a list for the needed devices (Bauteilliste) into the zip-file (Thanks to "MadMax").

Update of RotateScreen.zip:
New list for needed devices and a new layout for "strip grid boards" (sorry, don't know the exact word): Both circuits on one board! (Thanks to MadMax again!)
