Ok, I had a bunch of control panels (blank ones) made fo rme by Mameroom a while ago. Overall they came out great, but somewhere along the way, the trackball hole was made upside down. Needless to see, my axis are reversed. I know there is a way to change it, I have seen it back when I didn't need it, but for the life of me I can't remember where. I am using Mala (totally owniness btw) for my front end if it matters.
Thanks All !

Can you just switch the wire harnesses for the encoder boards? :dunno
-
Well, it is a USB Happs Trackball..not sure if you can switch them if you are using USB...anyone know?

Is there a software method for addressing this problem? I know you can remap in Mame but I want to use a reverse mounted trackball (a kensington orbit - not an arcade trackball) for mouse control in Windows.
Any suggestions? There has to be some utility floating around that can do this...

Well, as an extreme if you don't find another answer, you could strip the cable and cross the wires.

Just FYI, got this working. I was looking in the wrong menu section. It is in the "TAB" menus in mame, under Player 1 (or whatever number). It has an option to select X axis and Y axis. I was looking in the the OTHER, ANALOG, or ALL GAMES sections.
Works great now! Centipede on a 27" Betson monitor is pretty awesome!
