Title: Dreamcast emulation...slow?
Post by: hellothere123 on November 17, 2007, 10:14:00 am
I have a AMD3200 PC, I've tried chankast and nulldc

Problem is the games are choppy and REAL slow

Am I doing somehting wrong, do I need a faster PC, or is Dreamcast emulation just in need of better emulators?

Thanks!

depends on the game.  some games run GREAT on that pc...  some wont...

try a few and see.

NullDC is probably what you want, I think the latest version is beta 1.6?

You should be able to get near 100% emulation with some games, though the sound seems to be a bit choppy.

Depending on your system some games you may have to throttle down with beta 1.6 I was running an older version and Gauntlet Legends sound was very choppy; problem resolved in 1.6

If you're playing a Capcom game, try turning on the Capcom fix.

They both also rely on your video card. Somewhere around a Geforce 6600 GT  level should be good enough. I also recommend NullDC, its what I use on my cab for Marvel vs Capcom 2.
