Are any of the NES Playchoice games any different than the NES cartridge games?
Anything available on Playchoice that isn't available on NES?
Any advantages to using MAME + Playchoice ROMs over a NES emulator?
The only thing that's coming to mind as a plus, for me, right now... is ... if you don't have proper lightgun support in your NES emulator, MAME would probably be doing you a favor in that situation. But I'm wondering if there are any pros to using Playchoice under MAME instead of a NES emulator with all the cartridge ROMs ... it seems to be a bit more cumbersome to use MAME.

As far as I know, the Playchoice games are the same as the NES games, except they put a built-in timer. I suppose the Playchoice is cool as a curiosity of sorts, or maybe if you're using your coin door to limit gameplay amount for your children (as an example). But if you just want to play the games, I'd go with an NES emulator and skip the Playchoice.

Yes, Playchoice-10 ROMs are Different from NES. While they make look the same, the PC-10 ROMs have an extra ROM for the menu processor. PC-10 also outputs RGB, where NES does not. But as for gameplay, the PC-10 games are usually identicial to the NES, except maybe a different copyright line.
