Title: Volume controls help
Post by: rouge_leader on May 08, 2003, 11:39:45 pm
Do all arcade machines have a volume control in them?  Or are many stuck on one setting?  I have an Aliens (Konami) cabinet, that was converted form a Pac Man cabinet.  I am coverting it into a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cabinet. Well at least for now.  Anyway I already had wanted to adjust the volume on Aliens but now that I have plugged in the Turtles PCB it is loud.  And I mean very, very loud.  Is there anything that can be done.  I don't seem to find a volume control anywhere, what should I look for?  Thanks!

Perhaps you need to add or change out the potentiometer that is in your cabinet.  I don't have specific info on the volume control that may have been installed in an Aliens cab, but perhaps you can find something useful here where I added a volume control to my MAME cabinet:

My potentio whata meter?  Sorry, new to all this.  The only knob I see is on the power supply and I don't think that is it.

some games don't have a physical volume control, it's adjusted in the service settings, while the game is running...

Yes, I found the knob on my PCB as well as on the ALIENS PCB, thank you!  I found it, however, while poking around when my sound totaly went away! Please see my new post 'more sound problems' Thanks!
