I bought a coin door...damned if I know what kind it is...it was on ebay, got it 1/2 a year ago...I thought it was complete, just missing the coin basket...but I might be wrong.
Tell me, in real mechs, is there any type of metal fabrication that guides the coins from the insertion slot down into where an open tray would be (after it passes through the microswitch that registers a coin being dropped in??? Also, is there supposed to be a slot for when a coin is rejected, that guides it down into the rejection-bay......??
Or is it all "gravity and a well balanced cabinet"..??
Mine, when you drop a coin in, comes out the back...then down..its like there should be a coin-guide or something..but its missing. I have the apparatus thats sticking out the back that has the slot, with the wire in it to "actuate" the microswitch that registers a coin has been deposited...but there is nothing but open air above it....I'm guessing a part is missing, I'm just not sure what its called ;)

Sounds like you're missing the coin mechs all right. They're shaped kind of like a box. Some have no moving parts at all, and others have special weights inside to judge if it's a real coin, or one of an incorrect value.
I've got some plastic ones, no moving parts, if you're interested.

Actually I've got alot of junk "behind" the coin slots that was formerly attached to the top coin door (I removed all of it)....it had a wiring harness for the lamps, and like I said it seems like EVERYTHING is there, EXCEPT for what I imagine must be "guides" of some kind, that guide the coin down either into the cash box below OR into the ejection tray if you push the reject buttons.
BUT I've decided to just make some out of cardboard.....it didn't dawn on me until after to use cardboard....
Thanks for the offer however!

Well, good luck then.

do those look familiar? :) Those are usually what goes in the "middle" where you are referring to..
It either accepts the coin or kicks it out..
