Title: How to dismantle a coin door?
Post by: jcoplin on November 09, 2007, 09:51:54 am
I just received a Happ 4 player coin door (40-0946-00).  I am trying to replace the hideous amber reject buttons with some nice blue ones I bought.

However, for the life of me, I can't figure out how to remove the coin mechanism mounts.  They have a hex head type screw that fits no socket I have metric or English.  I have sockets that are too small and some that are too big but nothing dead on.  Is there some special tool I need?

And you have a full set? I've disassembled a few and never had a problem finding the proper socket. If all else fails, use some small needlenose pliers.

complete full sets both metric and English.  It's really odd.  Also, the screws are placed such that is next to impossible to get any sort of tool on them.  Really annoying actually.

I got it sorted.  It turns out that most of the screws heads are extremely poorly cast and kind of rounded off.  I'll have to remove them with pliers and then head to the local hardware store for replacements.   :badmood:
