Title: ipac confusion
Post by: mastercave on May 08, 2003, 01:53:40 am
hey guys, sorry if this is a repost but i cant find any answers in a search. So with the ipac4, i wouldnt need any hacked gamepads correct? currently for my desktop cp, i have a hacked gravis inside and it was a lot of trouble to get it to work without ghosting. so if i had an ipac, i would just connect each of the buttons and joysticks to its location on the ipac? and not sure if this is correct but the ipac substitutes as a keyboard through the use of its shift keys? so by using that functions i wont need another keyboard inside? if there is a post, i would appreciate a link to it. thx

The Ipac is a keyboard emulator.  It is the best solution IMO for building a control panel and interfacing with a pc.  You will be able to hook up all the joysticks and buttons for 4 players with an Ipac 4.  If you want to use trackballs, spinners or rotary joysticks you'll need an Optipac as well.   No need for hacked gamepads or keyboards if you have an Ipac.  Check out http://ultimarc.com for all the details.

Ipac is great for digital inputs: buttons, 8way joysticks, 4way joysticks, triggers, dpads, keyboard keys, or anything on/off.

Not analog joysticks, though.
