Title: 3 Cp designs for review where to put the spinner
Post by: gatordad on November 06, 2007, 11:17:45 pm
I am having trouble deciding where to put my spinner.
Which hand do you guys use for most of the spinner games rt or left?
Here was my first attempt kind of crude but got me started
(http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=51525.0;attach=89206;image)
My second attempt with spin placed upper lt
(http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=51525.0;attach=89208;image)
And the last one with the spinner on the upper rt

Looking for advice and feedback
6 Admin buttons are player 1 and 2 start, 1 and 2 coin and lt and rt mouse
Thanks
GD

I'd go with #1.

For me personally, 16" is a huge reach to the controls.
It's not that I can't do it.
I just don't playing hunched over, and reaching for the controls.
That isn't fun to me.

As far as which hand should use the spinner, that one is kind of a toss-up.
Every spinner game that I can think of at the moment used the spinner either centered, or on the left--except one.
Unfortunately, that one was Tempest.
I prefer left, but am left-handed, and played alot more Tron, Omega Race, Discs of Tron, and Blasteroids in the arcades, than I did Tempest.

I agree, number 1.
I might lose or move the 4 way joy too,
seems like it would suffer the same problem.
