I have need for some fairly specific specific microswitches. All the "standard" distributors of electromechanical do carry what I need, but I'm curious if I can get the price down further. I'm looking for 100gf actuation force, with a good solid click, 0.187" quick connect terminals. Something like the Omron V-10G-1C24-K (which, of all places I've looked at, is surprisingly cheapest at Digi-Key), though I don't need nearly a 10A current rating (they're just for controls).
100gf is the original spec. The machine has had them all replaced with 80gf switches, but they're too mushy to feel right in this application, and they don't have a good solid "click" either. Anything more than about 110-120gf is, in my experience, way too much.
I need about 30 of them, and no, replacing the buttons themselves is not really an option (for starters, they aren't your standard round button).
Anybody know of a distributor where I can get some switches of this nature cheaper than $1.67 in this quantity?

Well if I was looking for an item with a hard to find specification on them, I wouldn't be too much concerned about price. Cause it's already hard enough to find the item, and less so to find it at a very cheap price. For this case its usually one or the other you have to compromise, the price or the quality. And usually the price goes up with the quality. If I'm understanding your question correctly...

It's not a hard to find specification, just specific. That particular switch, for example, is available from many, many distributors. I'm just curious if anybody knows of one that might have it for less. Even a few pennies per switch adds up when you're getting 30+ switches (and potentially more).

Woah...I *did* check Mouser, and they were more expensive. They must have lowered their price within the past week since I put my order together. Wow.
I'm not sure that Happ sells a suitable switch. Most of the stuff I've seen from Happ is either the 80gf Cherry (which are great, but not suitable for this application) or the really, really hard stuff or mushy stuff (also not suitable). Their website is a little hard to navigate, so maybe I'm just missing it. The original is actually (I think) the stock switch on the button, but it's a Sanwa button, not Happ.
