Title: Sticking buttons
Post by: docfuz82 on November 02, 2007, 05:23:46 am
Howdy everyone, I just finished putting the control panel together for my ultimate arcade cabinet and I find that 2 of the buttons stick.  When I press the coin button for Player 2 as well as the one action button they stick, is there any way to fix this short of replacing the whole button?

Are the buttons used or new? Either way, take them apart and clean them.

Also, check for rogue wires that may be interfering with the microswitch/plunger.

I am not an expert, but by reading other peoples posts.....

If they are second hand buttons - take apart and put springs in coke to clean and leave plastics in watered down bleach to clean and dis-infect.

If they are new - checkl for wires snagging underneath or if the holes are not drilled at right angles to the cp, you could try releasing the nut slightly.
