I have modded a 1980's arcade game to play PS2. Thought's?

"One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take my nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out warehouse. "Oh no," I said, "Disneyland burned down." He cried and cried, but I think that deep down he thought it was a pretty good joke. I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty late."

"As I bit into the nectarine, it had a crisp juiciness about it that was very pleasurable -- until I realized it wasn't a nectarine at all, but A HUMAN HEAD!"

I'm thinkin' Arby's!

I like the deep thoughts quotes by Jack Handy better.
I think the OP thought he was the first to do that or something :dunno

I think you need to explain what it is you actually did.
You left your description pretty vague and open to each ones own interpretation.
Meaning most are probably thinking that you took an 80's arcade machine, gutted it, then stuck a PS2 and a tv inside with some hacked controllers going to the control panel for joysticks and buttons.

Balderdash! A console in an arcade cab? Inconceivable!

even crazier then him, I put a PC in mine!

I gutted my PS2 and put an 80's arcade machine inside it.
-
No what I did was use the orginal monitor, power supply, and controls. The only reason I did it was the kids wanted it
-
Kids...they always want something, right?

Stop lying! The only thing you can put in arcade cabs is candy. You all so crazy.

C'mon leave the poor guy alone. He might be quite sincere. Just thought we would be just as excited....imagine that, a world outside of here! ::)
Besides...he didn't say what 80's game. All of them aren't worth saving!
-
Can you hook it all up to an LCD monitor? :P

Can you hook it all up to an LCD monitor? :P
And use Nintendo joys that aren't broken? If you can find any that way....
>:D
-
Hoopz,
I got to say I love your signature too. Out of context but still brilliant.

- DELETED: Basically a repeat of what Cheffro said -
You should do a write-up of what you did along with the pics just to give us a general idea of what you did. But from what I see it looks pretty good. (P.S. Did you have enough buttons to mimic the controls of a PS2)?
-
Yes.. Every control function of the ps2 controle works on the arcade monitor. I will also do a complete redo of posting the pics and the story in a couple of days.

I wouldn't stop there. If you don't get the word out, constantly, no one will believe you did this. In fact I still have my doubts.

Whoa! You built the controls into the monitor? Now that's cool... no need for a CP! Genius!!!!!

I'd like to know more about the cabinet..... that profile would fit a project of mine perfectly.
KLOV doesn't show that particular one. http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=9435 (http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=9435)

I dont know it either. I went to klov and found nothing on it. I have an empty one though. Where are you?
-
Just curious, but what country are you in. I get the feeling English is not your native language because you are missing quite a bit of sarcasm.
Anyways, so is your cabinet wired in a way that you can switch between the original arcade hardware and the PS2?
Also, what is the point of having the ps2 in the arcade game? What games do you play on it?
-
Also, it looks like you hacked a wiring harness to plug the ps2 directly into the monitor chassis. Care to provide details on that. I was not aware that the ps2 was directly compatible with 15khz monitors.
