My oldest son (12) wanted to be a Big Daddy from BioShock. We worked on it over the weekend and it was really fun to make. He loves it. I told him he's gonna get really sick of telling all of the old ladies what he is. He says he'll just tell them he's a diver. It's hard to get a good picture that shows the lights.

thats badass... no joke
i wanna make a captain falcon costume but im too lazy to find a helmet
-
Can you post a picture after you bathe the costume in a substance resembling blood? :)
-
Shoulda made his sister go as one of the little dead girl things..
-
Wow, not bad at all. How long did it take to put it together?
Every year, I always plan for a really cool costume, but I always seem to run out of time putting it together. This year, my GF and I picked out our costumes from the store.

Found this one on retrocrush...
its listed as asteroids but it is asteroids deluxe artwork...

Don't think I wasn't all over that. She was in bed when we took the pictures. We'll get some tonight. The costume took several evenings to put together. Lots of construction, paint, wait, repeat.

Wow, that's really great.. good for you for taking the time! I love the lights!
-
Awesome. What kind of lights, and how did you power them?
-
I love it. My daughter is a tomato this year... not exactly video game related. I did carve a Spongebob pumpkin though and he's been in a few games...
-
Wow. Nice. Your JackOFu is better than mine.

It's a strand of 15 Christmas lights that are powered by a battery. I was going to wire it all up myself but then found this mini-string ready to go at the grocery store of all places. Saved me a ton of time and they look great in there.

Here's the shot I was hoping for. Big Daddy and Little Sister.

Word. I went to a friend's party as Zaku from Naruto. Even the people that I know watch that didn't get it. Disappointment incarnate.

Holy Schnikes! That is crazy right there.
-
That is awesome! I can't even imagine how much time and effort that took to build considering how long it took to do our ghetto version.

Cowbell, I hope you don't think that was my point in posting the link. Just thought it would add to the topic.

Not at all. We got a kick out of looking at all of the other costumes.

Nice work more cowbell. Your kid must have been pretty excited to get out of the house in that thing.
My wife wanted to make a Mr Do costume and three wood hammers for our 11 year old and have him juggling the hammers. We never got around to making it though. Maybe next year.
Waters obsolete! Have a granola.
