Title: Best way to hook up Xbox/PS2 to VGA monitor
Post by: Dizzle on October 29, 2007, 11:14:31 pm
Anyone know the best way I could hook up my last gen (Xbox/PS2) component outputs to a widescreen VGA monitor?  I see a number of cables/boxes/converters/transcoders out there, but I'm wondering if anyone had experience with any of them.  I know quality can vary and I'm wondering if lag becomes an issue as a result of the signal conversion.

Thanks!

The best way I've found is to use a monitor that has component input cables.  Since you probably already have the monitor in question and it doesn't have this, I've heard good things about ultimarc's adapter.  I've not done this myself though as I have access to a monitor with component in.

Good luck.

I wouldn't mind buying a monitor that has component inputs, but it seems like it's a whole different price range for a 21" or 22" monitor that has both VGA and component.  I guess then, it's basically an HDTV.

I'll check out ultimarc though.  Thanks!
