Title: Separate coin inputs?
Post by: Agent Davis on October 28, 2007, 11:02:33 pm
Search is broke, soo....

Is it necessary for me to wire up my coin door to input separate coin inputs or should I just have a single coin input?  I know there's the X-Men 6-player and Simpson 4-player that actually had separate coin inputs to pick the player but I know both of those have clones that just require one (or they are in fact the clones).  Anyway, many other games that need this?

i am not sure how many other games need this feature but let me just say this.

Quit being so damn lazy! do it right and wire them up separately, why go to all the hassle of putting in a coin door and start half-assing it now?

[EDIT = Nevermind, I misread something]

Many games accept input for either player from the main slot, and you could always have a work around for games that need specific entries (map a coin button, have the coin entry be 5 and 6 in MAME, etc.)

But if you have two inputs, I'd wire both.   ;)

Ha, it ain't laziness.  My inputs are somewhat limited and I don't want to waste an input if it's not needed.  That said, I will map coin 2 to a shift function.  Thanks for the replies.

What are you using for an encoder, just out of curiosity?
