Title: Interfacing PC with Racing cabinet-controls?
Post by: AE35 on October 28, 2007, 12:30:57 pm
Hey all!

Since I got Vivanonno to work in fullscreen etc.(thanks SGT) the wife wants to get a
real racing arcade, and use Vivanonno in it(with Raaaaaave racer)

But I'm thinking...would it be possible to interface the controls on the cabinet with a PC(and
Vivanonno)? And what does it take?? I take it I would need some extra hardware :)

Thanks,

Nicholas

You can hook up the steering and pedals pretty easy.  (ForceFeedback is a lot more work and since mame doesn't do FF, I don't know much about this; IIRC people have done it though.)

Your game used 270 steering wheel, right?  Then just get an apac  (http://www.ultimarc.com/a-pac.html)or other analog interface (look at flightsim & driversim sites for a dozen other ones), or even hack a gamepad (search here for more info on specific GPs).
