Im working on a layout for my CP. I absolutely love to play Smash TV and Total Carnage with my buddy but I dont know of any other games out there that use this setup. Im not too sure if I want to build my CP around two games (even though they are two of my favorites)
Thanks
Bill

Check out the advanced search on the MAWS database, using 2 simultaneous players and double 2/4/8 way joysticks to get your results. Looks like it's barely in double digits (not counting clones, of course).

Vindicators also comes to mind.

Karate Champ. One of my absolute favorite games when I was a kid. 2 players with 2 joysticks each.
-
ROBOTRON

I think he meant SIMULTANEOUS multiplayer.

Bill,
I am in the exact same boat. I am trying to lay out my control panel and am not sure I need a 4-player. But I really love Smash TV and for that reason would like dual sticks for two players. I played it a lot in college and would like to play it now with my kids. It just is not any fun using a gamepad. I am interested in the U360's. Since they are not cheap I don't really want to buy 4 but I probably will.

This is why I really like the idea of a modular CP that you can swap out components. Or having multiple CPs but then you need doubles of things so that's probably not worth it. hmmm.

A completely lame solution, albeit one that's "barely okay" in a pinch is to use the buttons to fire (ala the SNES version of Smash TV). On my panel that would be:
XXXXXXXX Fire Up XXXXXXXX
Fire Left Fire Down Fire Right
You could always make a separate panel (if possible) with 4 Supers (you don't need to go the expensive route buying four U360s - unless you really like Karate Champ which is Dual 4-ways). I wouldn't clutter up a standalone panel though (unless it's a four player setup to begin with).

I put two joysticks per person just for smash TV, Robotron, Blackwidow, and Crazy Climber
But it is worth it for just two person Smash TV. DO IT, I COMMAND IT
