I love this game, but those sno-bee's confuse me. I can't really figure out their patterns. It appears erratic. Whats the scoop? How can I break 100k on this game?

I both like and hate that game. Those SnowGlobes or whatever they are always beating me down.
I notice they tend to take the roads and paths that are mostly not in line with your site and a pushable block unless there is no block in front of you. But when in close proximity and in your line of site, they will usually break the block that can be pushed towards them.

I bought a cocktail version for my daughters room thinking " awww...that'll be a cute game for a girl".
Of course after playing it on as easy a setting as I could set it I realized... "jeezus this game is friggin HARD".

I can't tell you how many hours I spent playing this on my Atari 5200...tried playing it on my cab it seems soo much harder than it used to be. I do remember more than once gentle 'tossing' a controller into the bookcase though.

:laugh2: :applaud: I sincerely believe that each and every person on this board can relate........ most likely several times.
It may not have been Pengo, but it happened.

Lord yes. I used to do it all the time with my NES. Adventure Island 2 was the biggest reason for it.
You could slam an NES controller into a brick wall and it would come back for more. I only did it once with the SNES. The controller basicly shattered like glass.

The hardest part of Pengo is getting all three magic blocks together to get the extra bonus.
How I play the game to later levels (never could when I was younger) now is to rid myself of the Snowbees when they are incubating in the blocks. Just crush those near as quick as you can, then line up defenses where you can send the ice block speeding down the line to squish the snowbees.
Also don't sit in the corners, its ok to do that if there is one or two left as you can use the walls to disable them other wise they will gang up and trap you. Also give yourself exits so you can avoid the traps.
As the levels progress repeat the above but at a different location of the screen and alternate them hopefully you will get the screen where the magic blocks are close so you can scoop some snowbees up for additional points.
I have never seen any books on Pengo and I'm sure the different versions out there like the different types of music signify a slight change in gameplay. I have played both versions and have yielded the same scores, and die at the same level as the game progresses like Dig Dug..faster and faster. ;D
I love Pengo its a great game, up there with Pac Man and Dig Dug. :applaud:
